remember how punk culture was supposed to be anti-elitist and then it morphed into this cesspool of elitist shits trying to decide who/what is and isn’t punk
that’s some irony you can drizzle on a cake and eat that’s how rich it is

Dear not Brazilian friend…
Our country is undergoing a revolution.
It began with protests in favor of the adjustment of the price of public transportation in the metropolis São Paulo (which is very precarious and is among the worst in the world), but in a matter of days the movement has spread throughout Brazil, where activists are claiming the right to quality education, public Transport, health, decent housing and a reduction in billionaire investments in stadiums for the World Cup Brazil 2014.Social movements are resurfacing all over Brazil, unfortunately are responded to bombs and bullets by a police desperate, violent and unjust. Every protest movement in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro police cowardly acts, raping, injuring and berating people who are fighting for their right to have a better life in a country that can improve. Our democracy calls for changes and you can help us do that!
Reblog this and help us get the Brazilians to show the outside world what is really happening in our country. Please, we need your help!

As some of you may know, Brazil is going through a time of revolution against the government, that are stealing our money in front of our faces, increasing the prices here, there and everywhere, spending billions on stadiums for the World Cup (which is going to be really expensive to keep after is over and it’s probably going to happen what happened in South Africa - they demolished their stadiums because it was costing more money to keep it than it costed to build it). Meanwhile, we have a very poor educational system, public school teachers are often on strike because of their poor payment that it has recently been decreased. Our health care programs are shit. If you don’t have the money to pay a private hospital here, you might spend days waiting in line on a public one, and even might DIE while waiting. Politicians create charges to their relatives that don’t even exist so they can get paid (and well paid) to do absolutely NOTHING. The salary of a federal legislator here is around 26 thousands and 7 hundred reais. While a public doctor is paid around 1 thousand and 5 hundred, and public teachers get only 9 hundred.
And people finally are going on the street to protest against it - in a peaceful way. In São Paulo, I believe, people on the protests were handing FLOWERS to the police and yelling “NO VIOLENCE”, and still they smashed their OWN CAR to incriminate them. People are raising their voices for a better country, doing a beautiful event - which its purpose would also benefit the police - after all, they are citizens just like us, and in return they are shooting people with rubber bullets, throwing tearful gas bombs (there are images online of one of those that’s been out of date since 2010 - and a warning that they can be really dangerous if out of date), beating people with nightsticks and misfeasancing.
Even though Brazil is a democratic country, we are living under a silent dictatorship almost like the one we had in the 60’s.
The media is being controlled by the government, and they portray the ones who protest as “bums”, “vandals”, and telling that the police is only defending themselves - WHICH IS NOT TRUE. The true is on the internet and only.
And now they want to apply that law to INCRIMINATE people who FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS.
They are trying to apply a law that will make strikers and demonstrators be considered “terrorists” and criminalize people who do so. They want to make it a crime to make any kind of revolution that goes against the country’s interest. And by country’s interest, I mean to let them steal all of our money, while our population keep drowning into a mud of ignorance. This petition is trying to stop this law from being accepted. Please sign it. We’d all be thankful.

Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke says too much democracy can be a hindrance when organising a World Cup.
FUCK YOU, VALCKE! FIFA, GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY! WE DON’T NEED WORLD CUP!
sure, a World Cup is a very good and valid motif to step on the rights of citizens of a country
